I know these are really just for me, so feel free to ignore them, but I cannot stop myself.   Although I adore where we live, I have always longed to be on the road, so our little road trips are an essential part of my existence, and it is pretty amazing that we left the green hills and valleys of the Bay, went through the fertile Delta area, the snow covered Alpine peaks of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, to the hot and dry desert of Reno in less than 3 1/2 hours.  On the way home we drove through a sandstorm & tumble weeds, a snow storm with 3 foot accumulations, and ended in the sunshine pretty neat!
